BUTTON UP!

I am in LOVE with this idea of using buttons as art...

image via HERE
I tweaked the original "how to" a bit and found a way to make it faster and easier!

I will be doing a tutorial on this idea after Thanksgiving!

wouldn't it make a great Christmas gift?

Wednesday Wonders... a photo tile tutorial!

Photo Tile Coaster Tutorial

you will need :
4 photos of choice
mod podge
tiles
start with your photos and tiles....
the tiles are from Home Depot and are only about .20 each!!
I used an old vintage map of London and cut each photo down to 4x4

put a coat down of Mod Podge on the top of your tile
(just a thin coat)
U can either use Glossy or Matte....I used Glossy
Lay your photo on top of the tile...
(make sure to center it)
let that dry for a minute then put another coat of
Mod Podge on top of the picture to seal it!
(if you don't seal it then water from cups will ruin it if using it as a coaster)

now add the felt circles to the bottom corners of each tile
(do they don't scratch table tops)

and that's it!!

you have a quick - easy - affordable gift!
**they make great neighbor, teacher, and hostess gifts**

Birthday Calendar

So I starting thinking about ALL the many birthdays that I have to keep track of.

And how I don't always remember until it's the day OF and I see it on my phone!!
YIKES!

And that's when I decided to make a Birthday calendar
AND
that it would make wonderful Christmas gifts as well :)

*I was not the "inventor" of this birthday calendar - it has been around for many years - I just made up my own version of the calendar and thought I would share*

For starters you will need to download the Birthday calendar template
there are TWO versions
PSD that you can edit the months to print
or
the JPEG version that has no month specified

DOWNLOADS:
JPEG HERE
PSD HERE

(you can make your own template if you don't like or don't want to use mine)

what you will need:
* 12 copies of the calendar template
*
6 coordinating pages of scrapbook paper
* hole punch
*coordinating ribbon
*6-12 pages of cardstock - optional
(depending on if it is 12x12 or 8.5x11)
* glue stick

______________________________________________________
Ok now for the fun part....

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER!

- after you print 12 copies cut them all out
(they are sized at 9X4)

- each page of scrapbook paper to 11x5
(two per pieces per page)
- then you will glue the calendar page to the decorative paper

- you can now choose to back each calendar page with card stock to make all the backs of the pages the same color and to thicken them up.
your card stock will be cut to 11x5
(this step is optional)

- punch two holes at the top of each page
(make sure they are in the same spot for each page)
*each one of my holes was

- on each side push ribbon all the way through all holes
tie into a small knot

(don't tie your knot too tight to the paper - leave a small amount of room for the pages to flip over)
(use a small pen if you need help getting it through all the holes)

and that's it!!

you have a beautiful BIRTHDAY CALENDAR ready for use or gift giving!
