Felt Flower Pillow Tutorial

I needed add a little something to my plain pillows
so I made some super cute and easy flowers out of felt!
and I LOVE THEM!

Here's what you need :
*please note the glue is a washable fabric glue*
* I free hand drew the petals...I used 9 of the largest, 10 of the medium, and 6 of the small - that was for a 18X18 pillow...your petal may vary depending on your pillow size and how big your petals are that you drew*
lay out the design of your pillow to get an idea of where and how the petals are going to fit
pull the petal back off and starting with your largest petals (the outside ones)
put a drop of glue in each corner and fold the corners in
do this to all your large and medium petals
let dry for 5 min then add glue to the back of the petal to place on the pillow
pin the petals into place to hold them on while they are drying
repeat these same step using the MEDIUM petals
NOW....when you get to the SMALL petals
DO NOT glue and fold them in
just add the glue to the back of the petal and place in the center of the flower
*make sure to remove the pins as you glue the next row of petal on top of them*
lastly to finish it off I free hand drew a few  "flowers" added a drop of glue to the back of them and put them over the very center to cover the "hole"
and your done! quick...easy...chic....and affordable!!

now go and make some for your couch!
and remember as always if you make anything using our tutorial
we would LOVE to see pictures of it!
HAPPY MONDAY!

Please click HERE to see all the wonderful blogs I am linking this tutorial too!

Please note : there has been some concern with readers as to who had the original idea for this pillow and where it came from...I HAVE NO IDEA who "created" this idea. There is this SAME tutorial ALL over the blog land! Just to reassure my readers my idea came from my MIL who found it in a magazine a year or more ago. Yes, there is a very similar tutorial out there from a blog I have never heard of or seen before but I did not copy them. If I had gotten my idea from them - then I would have been more than happy to direct credit to them :)

For more reference :  this pillow can now be purchased at  World Market and they were like, $20 for 7-8" pillows!

  15. Bake Sale - I have never heard of the blog you were referring to. My Mother in law actually showed me a picture of this from a magazine which gave me the idea. I can assure you if it was someone else idea I would be more than happy to give credit where it belongs. I am sorry if it offended you that you thought I was taking someone else idea. Please feel free to email me if you have any further concerns.

  23. My favorite thing about your flower (besides that it is beautiful) is that you use glue and not a sewing machine! AWESOME!!!!
