  2. I've been told that making a paste out of white vinegar and baking soda helps! I've never tried it, but hydrocortisone didn't help me much when I needed it, so hopefully that does better!!

  3. This guy told me that if you use your finger nail and press and X into the mosquito bite really hard it releases all the toxins that make you itch... maybe try that then put lotion on over it? It usually works for me, but I do that if I don't have itch cream.

Good luck. And I would see a doc about your hand!

  4. Unfortunately I think you may need to go to the doctor. This is not a common reaction to be so big. My husband is "allergic" to poison ivy - it gets in his blood stream and spreads all over his body popping up in random places. So, knowing that - I'd say you need an official opinion! Get well soon!

  5. if you don't scratch you can use ammonia to neutralizer the sting. basic vs acid.. stuff. some Windex has ammonia in it but i just have a bottle of the straight stuff. Just but some on a paper towel and swap the stings.

  7. I have heard that heat breaks down the toxins that cause the itch-so make a facecloth as hot as you can stand it and hold it on for a bit. Also, I agree that that looks more like an allergic reaction- you should maybe see a doctor. Yikes!

  8. Try rubbing vinegar on it. I have bad reactions to misquito bites & it has helped (some) with both the itching & the swelling. I agree with whoever said you should maybe go to the doctor for the one on your hand since that is not a "normal" reaction to a misquito bite. You poor thing!!

  9. A few weeks ago I had really bad and huuge bites on my legs too! I'd wak up early in the mornings itching my legs to death! My husband would yell at me, "STOP ITCHING!" I pressed ice cubes on the bites and it seemed to worked a little bit :)I still have scars. Hope you feel better!

  10. My entire family swears by the old school Speedstick by Mennen - you will smell kind of funny, but you just rub it on and the itch goes away. I am so sorry for you! I am a major mosquito attracter too, but I have never been eaten quite as badly as what your hand looks like. Is it possible that the bite on your hand is from a spider? I agree that you should see the doctor for that one.

  11. I hate mosquitoes! They always get me too! Have you tried an Aveeno bath? It might sooth the itch.

  12. The super swollen one looks like it might be a spider bite. I react really bad to both mosquitoes and spider bites so feel your pain. Hope you find some relief soon.

  13. My opinion is that you need to see a doctor about the bite on your hand. If it's a spider bite, you might need to get antibiotics.

  14. My husband's family uses contact solution. It has always worked for them..but doesn't work for me..worth a shot. My husband always drenches himself in warm water. He says it stops the itching. However, I believe you may be allergic or have another type of bite on your hand. My nephew is allergic and always has to get antibiotics for his mosquito bites. Good luck!

  16. Your hand appears to be having an allergic reaction and for that a doctor would be the best route.

For the other itchy bites all over I swear by this stuff:
    http://www.stingzapper.com/general-stings/fire-ant-sting-1oz-tube/

Sting Zapper. It is marketed for ant bites but it works for just about any itches.

Being in Texas, our mosquitoes are the size of sparrows and our red ants make condominiums in the backyard so I found out really fast I needed something serious to deal with it. I don't have time for "soothing creams" that just sit on top of the skin or need to be reapplied every hour. And I find it hard to explain to a two-year-old not to scratch or he will get scars.

The comment that recommended you get the toxin out has the right idea because the toxins are what you are itching but I can't afford to cut open the skin and risk further infection or scarring so I found this stuff. It has an anti-venom in it, not just soothing products. So it penetrates the skin and encapsulates the toxins until your body can dispel them naturally. The itching stops. I use it all the time and it hasn't let me down yet.

I bought mine at the grocery store, HEB. But they don't have HEB in Utah and not all stores carry it, so check first.

  17. ouch!!! i have no tips for you...i swear nothing works for me either. good luck, i hope they go down soon!!!

  18. Oh my goodness, those are awful!! My arms and legs usually look like yours, the raised bumps, but man your poor hand looks terrible!! Hope you get some relief from that soon. :(

  19. Oh my word! I'm sorry :( that doesn't look fun!

What I usually do is take a bath with cornstarch in it...it usally works pretty good! But like others said I think you should see a doctor!

  20. Have you tried a cotton swab dipped in tea tree oil? I got a bunch over the weekend and it did wonders for me! I also made some oatmeal, added milk and sugar, waited for it to cool down to a warm temp, then scrubbed all over.

  21. Go to a doctor! The doctor might be able to give you something as simple as a shot. I had a bad reaction to poison ivy and that shot did wonders!

  22. Britt, those look simply awful! I've heard the x trick works, too. Also, Ryan likes to rub his with alcohol--he says it works. I hope they go away soon for you. That is the pits!

  23. Wow, that is some reaction, I did not read through all of the comments, so don't know if anyone told you to see a doc and get a short run on steriods, it will clear you right up! I was a nurse 100 years ago LOL! Good luck

  24. I'm sure you've gotten a ton of suggestions in all these comments, but I wanted to put it out there that we use calendula cream and it works like a miracle! you can find it in the baby section of target or in babies-r-us. We've used it on rashes, bug bites, sun burns, scrapes, burns, pretty much anything. Hope it gets better soon!

  25. Go to Doterra.com and find and oil for mosquito bites I usually use lavender oil. These oils are amazing. Or go to mydoterra.com/angifankhauser and you can order anything you need or love.
    Hope you get better soon!

  26. You've tried everything I would have used. I'd also probably use an ice pack as well. I agree you probably should call you doctor about the one on your hand. It's almost as though you need to take something that will reduce the swelling let alone get rid of the itch (if the swelling goes down so does the itch). I'd try a few ice packs...it might help. I'm dealing with sunburn right now so, I'll feel your "pain" another way. Feel better (soon)!

  27. I feel for you, Brittany! I usually get eaten alive during the summer. This summer I've been lucky, though. I usually ice my bites. Lotions, ointments, don't work for me.
