{{tutorial}} how to use Silhouette Heat Transfer Material

How to use your SILHOUETTE and HEAT TRANSFER material :
Silhouette Electronic Cutting Tool

 First design your image in your amazing, super fun, Silhouette program
{remember...since it is a HEAT TRANSFER image you MUST REVERSE (mirror image)  it in your program}
 Cut your image out
{for this project I used the WHITE FLOCKED HEAT TRANSFER material}
Peel away the negative space on your design...leaving ONLY the image and the clear plastic covering
 I trimmed away the extra clear plastic leaving just my design!!
 Turn it over {clear plastic side up} and put it in place on your fabric.
Lay a thin fabric over the top and iron
follow the direction on your heat transfer material box for best results!
Peel away the plastic leaving just the design on your fabric!
and your done!!
you just created a darling design using your SILHOUETTE and HEAT TRANSFER material :)

  1. How durable is the heat transfer? I just ordered the Silhouette machine to help me with my Etsy business and making t-shirts. I don't want to sell a product that is going to fall apart after 2-3 washes. What do you think about it?

    I have had no problem with mine! I have only used it on one onesie though (something washable) and it has only been washed once but held up Excellent!! Congrats on your new machine and I am sure you are going to LOVE it and use it for so many things!

    The heat transfer material comes in TONS of different colors!
    You could easily combine designs using different colors into one finished product!

  7. has anyone had problems cutting the heat transfer stuff? i'm having an issue where it cuts one shape, and then when it moves on to the next shape, it somehow catches on the first one, thereby messing up the second one...i'm using all of the recommended settings...help! do y'all cut the transfer material down to the size of the carrier sheet? or can you use smaller pieces? basically, i'd like to be efficient with the heat transfer material, so it would be nice if i could load a sheet of it that might already have a little bit cut out...but then when i've tried doing that, it gets caught...

    sorry this is lengthy - i just really wanna make this work!

    thank you in advance for any helpful hints and suggestions! love your blog!!!!
