time travel...

If it were possible to go back in time would you?

How far would you go back?

{me about 2 years old}
{me about 6 years old}
{me with my grandparents 5th grade graduation}

Would you go ALL the way back? Do it ALL over again?
{circa high school years}
{from my first wedding 2005}
{2006}
{2010}

Just back to high school?
redo the awkward and hard years?
take back your first heartbreak, your first car accident?
Or
would you just go back and fix the mistakes you made...the things you KNOW you did wrong?

I have been thinking about this a lot lately...
The thing with that is, I feel all the mistakes I made, the trials I went through, have made me who I am today. Have made me stronger, more secure, more knowledgeable.
Do I still make mistakes - OF COURSE
Do I still wish I could go back and change  just that ONE thing
YES!

But without those stepping stones we might not be where we are today, be with the ones we love, the friends we have
Everything happens for a reason and although we may not know the reason right then or now it will all make sense later!

I am still waiting for some of my "oh that is why that happened" moments
but I believe they will come and that everything has happened as hard or challenging or awkward as it was for a reason!

{our wedding 2007}

so what about you?
would you go back in time?
would you change things?
how far back would you go?

  1. I think you are right about the mistakes we make a long the way make us the people we are today. God uses these moments to mold and shape us. I do regret the mistakes I have made, but I dont regret the lessons they have tought me. I dont think I would go back in time. Good question!

  3. I've always said the same thing..I wouldn't change anything..even the stupid things I did..the mistakes I made..They taught me something..EVERYTHING taught me SOMETHING! If I changed something there would be some of my knowledge missing.

  5. I totally agree that the past is what makes today... that being said, I would love to go back to high school and get a do over... I let a stupid teacher wreck one of my favorite classes!

  6. I would not go back... I love where I am today and going through all those "younger-me" experiences has helped shape me onto who I am today like you said. I do wish that an older wiser me could have "visted" the younger awkward me and told me that everything would be OK in a few years because I would meet a wonderful man and have very beautiful baby girls.

    SINCE I never came across a time machine, I want to figure out a way to help teach my daughters who to survive those years and know that it will pass so quickly! Any ideas?

  7. I would want to redo it all, just for fun, but especially the single after high school years. I didn't get enough of them, or maybe just didn't live them to the fullest when I had them.
    Wait, first marriage? What?
